Steps to re-create this card:

  • Focal Point:
    • Steps:
      • 1. Ink blend the Cherry Bliss Stencils onto white cardstock.
        • Stencil 1: Candy Apple for the cherries and Ballet Slipper for the cherry blossom
        • Stencil 2: Olive for the leaves and Sparkling Rose for the cherry blossom- tip: make sure to mask off the cherry blossom details when you ink the leaves and vice versa
        • Stencil 3: Lush Forest for the stems
        • Stencil 4: Berrylicious for the cherry details and Raspberry Bliss for the cherry blossom details.
      • 2. Die cut the ink blended images and two blanks from white cardstock. Using liquid glue, glue the two blanks to the back of the cherries and cherry blossom ink blended image for dimension. Save the two solo cherries for the inside of the card. I did not attach the blanks to the cherries on the inside of the card. Save those for another use.
      • 3. Tie a bow around the cherries with thread.
      • 4. Die cut the 3rd largest hexagon from vellum. Using liquid glue, adhere the cherries and cherry blossom image to the vellum.

  • Card Base:
    • Steps:
      • 1. Cut an A2 card base from white cardstock and score down the middle.
      • 2. Using a stamping platform, stamp the Have a deliciously HAPPY DAY sentiment in black ink directly into the inside of the card.
      • 3. Using liquid glue, glue the extra image of the cherries that you created earlier

  • Background Panel:
    • Steps:
      • 1. Cut an A2 sized panel of watercolor paper. Tape the panel to a glass mat using washi tape to create a thin border of white around the panel.
      • 2. Create the checkerboard pattern with Raspberry Bliss liquid watercolor. Add quite a bit of water into a few drops of the watercolor for a soft look. Make the vertical stripes first. Dry with a heat tool. Make the horizontal stripes second. Dry with a heat tool. Remove the washi tape.
      • 3. Die cut the gold frame from gold metallic cardstock using the largest postage edge die. Use the 3rd largest nested rectangle die to create a frame from the postage edge die cut.
      • 4. Using liquid glue, attach the watercolored background panel to the prepared A2 card base. Using glue, adhere the gold frame onto the watercolored background panel.
      • 5. Using liquid glue, adhere the prepared hexagon and cherries/cherry blossom image to the background panel. Put glue on the cherries/cherry blossom image and very very lightly on the edges of the blanket stitched hexagon so that the glue doesn't show too much through the vellum.
  • Sentiment:
    • Steps:
      • 1. Prepare a piece of white cardstock in a stamping platform with anti-static powder. Ink the sentiment Sweet Birthday Wishes with black ink and stamp one or two times until you have a great impression. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder and set with a heat gun.
      • 2. Die cut the sentiment with the coordinating die and die cut two blanks from white cardstock as well. Glue the blanks to the back of the embossed sentiment.
      • 3. Attach to the card panel with foam tape.
  • Embellishments:
    • Steps:
      • 1. Place a few Iridescent drops on the card front and attach using liquid glue.

Finished!
